So it happens to the best of us... every now and then some pathetic individual or spammer decides to make inappropriate or unwanted comments on your precious Facebook Business Page - which quite honestly is a pain in the you know what!

Instead of just deleting their unwanted comment, why not block the user alltogether?  Its a very easy process and this is how it is done:

1.  Find the unwanted comment on your Facebook Business Page.
2.  Hover over the comment and in the top right corner of the comment you will see a small cross appear.  Click on this cross. (shown in photo below) it will say mark as spam once you have clicked on the cross.

3.  You will then get another small message from facebook saying that "You've hidden this comment so that the person who wrote it and their friends can see it still"  It offers a choice to undo the action of hiding the comment or to ban the user... Click on Ban User (see Below)
4.  The final screen message will say that you have "Deleted the comment so that no one can see it"  It then offers an option to report the comment as abusive - this is totally up to you.  It also gives confirmation that the particular user has been banned from your page - YEY! (See Image below)
If you are would just like to remove a certain person from your business page that has not commented on anything, but is a liker, just send me an email at info@bluebirdinternetmarketing.com and I can talk you through it.

When it comes to Social Media posts for Business Pages and Community Groups, updates that include striking images get the most response from social media users.

Social Media users who log in to their home page are more likely to click on an image that you have posted that catches their eye's attention, rather than read a lengthy status that doesn't contain images.

So what do you need to remember when taking images or uploading ones on your social media sites, website or blog?

1.    Clarity.  Ensure that your image is clear.  Don't bother posting fuzzy, blury images.  Ensure that your image is of good quality and gets your point across.
2.    Viewability.  Ensure that when you take your photo, that it is upclose and centred.  Social Media Home pages will crop your image to display on your timeline or the home page so centered clear images are important.  When taking your image either from your phone or camera, ensure that you get close to the subject and that labeling is visable.  The beauty of digital, is that there is no limit of the number of photos you can take to get it right.  Ensure that lighting is adequate when taking your image.
3.    Creditation.  When using someone else's image from the internet ensure that you have approval to use that image and that you give the image the credit to the photo owner.
4.    Label your images.  Your readers often want to know more about your image. Where was it taken, what is it of (e.g. product) where can it be purchased.  Ensure that you provide these answers and links to other social media pages or your website to take full advantage of the response your image may receive.
5.    Information.    If your business is one that has many attractive photos of products etc, it may be worth considering opening a Pinterest account, Instagram or Flickr account as a way of sharing your images to a wider audience.  If you have these photo sharing accounts, ensure that you mention this in your social media posts so viewers have the option of finding your other images easily.

Happy Snapping!

Like Us on Facebook
Like Us on Facebook.... Something that we see branded on business cards, store fronts, market stalls and even on cars on a daily basis.  Businesses are being pro-active trying to cover all areas of marketing their business by using social media... but what is in it for us as users?  Why should we like you on facebook?

Today I had a discussion with a facebook user who put across some very valid points, that I myself notice on a daily basis for business reasons, but one's that I havent heard socia media users voice honestly before.  The facebook user said that she was quite honestly sick of looking up business pages on Facebook that have asked her to "like" their page or whose information she has found through other resources, only to find that the Facebook business page was very limited without any information at all on the business itself.

Sadly this is very common and dissapointing for users.  Fed up with coming across social media pages with little or no information, users are unliking the page or hiding it from their newsfeeds.

Things to remember as a business page owner for your social media sites:
1.    Can Users find all of your contact information including address, phone and email?
2.    Is there a concise description on what your business services are, or what products you stock and are your photos up to date?
3.    Are your prices listed if you have stock for sale, and do you offer postage, where do users find this information and how will they know how to order?
4.    Do you respond to questions on feedback on your social media page or do you ignore those how have taken the time to ask you a question, respond to one of your posts or leave a comment?
5.    Most importantly Treat your facebook or social media page like a store front, ensure it is attractive, informative and most of all not empty!

Im off to check on my own page now and take a little of my own advice...

EcoRidge Hideaway Chalets are the perfect place to visit to relax and escape to a country Bed and Breakfast with fascinating views.  EcoRidge is located in the mountain range of Preston and with 50 acres of private bush land, you can relax, lie back and enjoy the views, experience the local flora and fauna (many birds), walk the property bushtrail...or... go and explore Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.  Photography enthusiasts will love the endless photo opportunities at ecoRidge Hideaway.
Blue Bird Internet Marketing was hired to enhance the existing Social Media Facebook Profile of ecoRidge Hideaway, buy suggesting options to create a fully functional Facebook Page for the business.  Custom Tabs were created, linking the chalet's Email Newsletter Sign Up Form, their Blog and a custom tab to their booking button for easy accommodation bookings and enquiries directly through facebook.  Custom Tab Images were created to compliment the colouring and fonts of the ecoRidge Logo and existing website.  The overall result looks fantastic and I look forward to the upcoming status updates from this beautiful accommodation provider.

The Toowoomba Bird Observers Club was founded in 1975 by a passionate group of birding enthusiasts.  Over the years the group has grown markedly now hosting field trips and birding events.  The club has a low cost membership fee but is highly worth it.  The Toowoomba Bird Observers Website is a fantastic resource for all local birding information, a forum and the opportunities to share sightings and recordings with other like minded people.
Blue Bird Internet Marketing has created a Facebook Timeline Page for the TBO Club that will work as a fantastic resource for newtworking and sharing photographsby birders and wildlife lovers World Wide.  The photographs in the Facebook Page albums are equisite.

This has been a most enjoyable project to work on and I am now inspired to improve my birding photography skills.
